Over The Tracks

Over the tracks

New food growing spaces and community spaces proposed as part of the Over the Tracks project will now be delivered as part of the Tate Institute on Wythes Road. Alongside studio spaces and community hall, the Tate Institute will now provide food growing space and a community garden within the courtyard and a food bank.

Work has already got underway with residents and students from Newham Colleges and University of East London taking part in engagement workshops to help shape the community space and the future of North Woolwich. This involved students completing a co-production project where they designed and built structures using sugarcrete which is a building material created from waste materials from the local Tate and Lyle factory.
