Apply online for planning permission
You can apply online via The Planning Portal website. Here you can submit your application forms, with the required certificates, documents and plans, and pay the application fee.
If the application fee to the council is £60 or more, the Planning Portal charge a £20.83 (plus VAT) handling fee, in addition to the planning application fee. Please pay online rather than sending through cheques where possible.
Apply by post or email
Please try to submit all applications electronically rather than via post or hand delivery where possible.
If you are unable to submit your application online, application forms are available to download as PDF documents on the Planning Portal website.
Download and complete the relevant application form, and send it to us, along with the required documents and plans by email to: Planning.Application@newham.gov.uk or you can send it to us on a USB stick by post to the address below. Please send us your files in PDF format (with the measuring tool switched on) and with a file size no larger than 10MB. If you need to, break up large documents into separate files.

The Duty Planning Phone service is currently suspended however we are still operating our email query service therefore if you have any generic planning enquiries please email us via duty.officer@newham.gov.uk
In respect of planning application submissions you can email Planning.Application@newham.gov.uk.
Enquiries relating to validation enquiries you can email Planning.Validation@newham.gov.uk or if you have a planning application pending consideration please email your case officer. Please contact them directly using the email address provided on validation or consultation documentation.
