Results
We start processing application forms when our schools open in the week ending 8 September 2024. Applications are then processed within 15 schools days. We will only reply if we can offer a place at one of the schools on your application or if your child lives in Newham and does not have a school place in Newham. The first offers will be made in the week beginning 30 September 2024.
Places cannot be guaranteed as schools may not have spaces for everyone who applies. The How We Offer Places section explains how we process applications and our waiting list process.
If your child is already in a school, we will not offer a different school if there are no places at the schools on your application form. We will automatically add your child’s details to the waiting list for any of the schools we could not offer but are listed higher than the school we could offer. Waiting lists are cleared on the last day of each term. We will automatically let you know if a place becomes available before this time.
It is the responsibility of parents and carers to make sure their child receives suitable education. Your child must therefore continue to attend their current school or the school we have offered until a space is available at the schools you have applied for.
Important note:
This is one of the busiest times for all school admission teams. We will reply as soon as we can to all enquiries. Please bear with us during this busy time.
Waiting lists
Where a child is not offered a place at their parents/carers first preference school they will be automatically added to the waiting list for each school that is ranked higher than the school place offered. The next waiting list emails will be sent on Tuesday 10 September 2024 for all the schools we manage.
Newham schools that manage their own waiting list (Word). If your child is on the waiting list for these schools, please contact them direct from 10 September 2024 for your child’s waiting list position, not Newham Council.
In-year admission appeals
You can appeal if you are refused a place at any of the schools you have named on your in year application. To find out more, go to our school admissions appeals page.
