What can I recycle?
For information on recycling, please have a look at our what you can put in your recycling bin and what you can't put in your recycling bin pages.
Recycleopedia
Recycleopedia is a handy tool that lets you look up household items and find out what bin they should go in. You need to use a full Newham postcode for it to work.
To find out what items you can take to nearby recycling facilities visit the London Recycles Website.
Your recycling collection day
We collect recycling every week to help residents bin less and recycle more. We generally collect your recycling on the same day as your rubbish.
Where to put out your recycling
Store your recycling bin or bags within the boundary of your property. Do not place your bin on the pavement as your bin should not obstruct pedestrians.
Present your bin by 6am on the day of collection at the edge of your property, for example next to your gate or at the end of your drive.
If you use orange bags, please make sure you tie them up properly before you put them out next to your rubbish bin/bags for collection.
Reusable furniture items
If you have furniture items you no longer need that you think could be used by someone else, you can find out how to donate them here Or bring them along to Jenkins Lane Re-use and Recycling Centre where staff will have a look at items to see if they are in good enough condition to be reused.
