What happens to recycling
Recycling that we collect in orange-lid bins and orange bags is taken to a sorting facility at Jenkins Lane Re-use and Recycling Centre.
The different kinds of materials are separated from each other using specialist machines, magnets, sieves and some hand-sorting. The sorted materials are made into bales, and then sent off to be recycled into new products.
