Need to dispose of large household items such as furniture, fridges, or TVs?

These items can't go into your household bin.  You can help your community and the environment by donating items to charity to be re-used. Many charities offer free collections of these items, some will even collect the items from inside the building.

We offer three free bulky waste collections for every household in the borough, with up to six items accepted for each collection . Any additional collections are charged at £30 per collection. Please note that this service is for household waste only.

It is illegal to to dump large waste items or any other rubbish. You could face a £1,000 fine and prosecution if waste is illegally dumped. 

You can also take items to the Jenkins Lane Reuse and Recycling Centre where furniture, bikes, clothes, paint and books are reused and other items are recycled.

A bulky waste collection is for large unwanted items such as furniture, fridges, freezers or TVs. This service is for household items only.

Are you a Landlord, Managing Agent or business owner?

Free bulky waste collections are for residents only. If you’re a Landlord or Managing Agent you can have bulky waste collected from a property for £30 with an additional cost of £12 per item.

Before you apply, please read the terms and conditions, and check we can collect the items you want to get rid of. After you make a booking, put your items out for collection immediately.
