Co-production: “What’s Missing?
We celebrated Co-production week with an event titled Co-Production: “What’s Missing?” on Thursday, 11th July 2024 at the Highway Vineyard Church.
Co-produced Approach to Events
In true co-production fashion, our event was co-produced with local residents and grassroots community leaders.
Aidan Keightley (Co-Production Manager) was joined on stage by Angus McKenzie-Davie (Newham Co-Production Forum Adults, Resident Co-Chair) to open the event. And Councillor Charlene McLean was joined onstage by Hilda Mango (NCPF(A), Resident Deputy Chair) for the closing remarks.
The event was supported by Newham Volunteers throughout.
Co-production Showcase
We were joined by various community partners and local programmes which showcased co-production projects over the last year. These guests included: Healthwatch Newham, CCMHG, Diabetes Community Researchers, Well Newham/5 Ways to a Healthier Life, Newham Carers Community, Enabled Living Healthcare, Speak Out, Hestia, Newham Parent Forum, Space 4 Me, Greenhill Cumberland, ASK User-led Mental Health Group
Sharing Co-production Achievements in Adult Social Care
The event featured a session on Sharing Co-Production Achievements in Adult Social Care, presented by Hilda Mango and Jason Strelitz, Corporate Director of Adults, Health & Communities, Director of Public Health & Director of Adult Social, Newham Council, which highlighted successful co-production efforts using the "We Said, We Did" format.

Resident Representatives of Newham Co-Production Forum performed an impactful and thought-provoking roleplay session titled “What’s Missing?”.
Co-production: “What’s Missing?” Panel Discussion
After a short break, a panel discussion on the theme “What’s Missing?” was held, moderated by Tony Jobling, Director of Operations, Adult Social Care, Newham Council.
The discussion included various panellists such as Angus McKenzie-Davie, Yamou Njie – Chair of Newham Parent Forum, Resident, Parent Carer, Isaac Samuels - Lived Experience, Co-production Advisor. LGBTQI and Social Justice Campaigner and Emily Ahmed - Newham Community Research Programme Manager PH, Freelance co-production facilitator, public engagement specialist, qualitative researcher and action learning facilitator and trainer.

Awards and Acknowledgements
The event also included an awards and acknowledgements segment, where certificates were presented to individuals for their contributions to co-production over the past year. The awards were presented by Councillor Neil Wilson and Aidan Keightley.
