Information for Designated Teachers
NVS works with Social Workers and other professionals such as Special Education Needs Teams, Youth Offending Teams, Foster Carers, schools, colleges, training organisations and other establishments to ensure that all looked after children achieve the best possible outcomes. We provide a thread of continuity that brings together multi-agency teams with the young person at the heart.
Newham Virtual School offers a mix of detailed PEP training for new Designated Teachers, thematic training on topics such as trauma related behaviour and attachment awareness for designated teachers and other related school staff and conferences where sector leaders speak to a larger group from schools, education providers and other partners. The team has also provided customised training on site.
