Leaway Walk
We are working with The Line, which is an arts charity, to develop the Leaway Walk to enhance the visual experience of walking and cycling along the river. This includes a programme of community engagement, social prescribing walks and school workshops.
This three projects will consist of:
-
Artwork on the cable bridge across River Lea
-
Way-finding proposals
-
Playful landscape
In 2021, The Line launched Madge Gill: Nature in Mind – a multi-site exhibition in Newham. This includes a 60m wide digital reproduction of a drawing by Madge Gill, which is installed on the cable bridge at Cody Dock. The Line worked with Newham Council, LBTH, UK Power Networks, Port of London Authority and Canal & River Trust to secure approval for this. The work is scheduled to be in place for at least two years. Other works that are part of the exhibition are installed along the route of The Line in the Royal Docks, opposite Star Lane Station, at the House Mill and in the Network Rail underpass at the southern entrance to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
