Seeing dead animals can be upsetting for anyone, and some can carry diseases. We try to remove dead animals from roads, footpaths and other public areas within 24 hours. So if you see one on a public street, park or open space within the borough, please report it to us.
Dead animals on private land
We are unable take dead animals from back gardens. If a dead animal is found at the rear of your property, please bag it and move it to the front of the property where our operatives can access it and remove it.
If a dead animal is found on non-residential private land and we can get onto the land safely, then we will arrange for the dead animal to be removed. But if we can’t get onto the land, the landowner will have to remove the animal.
