Boiler Upgrade Scheme
Property owners across England and Wales can now access £7,500 grants to fit clean heating systems when they replace their oil and gas boilers with the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), funded by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and administered by Ofgem.
The new £450 million scheme has been launched to lessen the upfront cost of low carbon heating technologies for property owners whilst improving building energy efficiency, reducing energy bills and cutting carbon emissions.
The scheme has a committed budget of £350 million over three years from 2022-2025, with property owners eligible to receive £7,500 off the cost and installation of either an air source heat pump, biomass boiler, or ground source heat pump. Bringing the price of a heat pump and installation as low as £500.
