The Christmas elves of Newham spread festive joy in neighbourhoods

The Festive Elves of Newham’s Together at Christmas campaign have been hard at work spreading joy with hundreds of residents joining the fun, sparkle and magic of Christmas.

Choirs, bands, grottos, festive arts and crafts have drawn in the crowds as Newham celebrates community with lights and cheer in these difficult and dark days.

It all started with the East Ham Civic switch-on event, with Plaistow and Custom House, Maryland, Woodgrange Market and Stratford joining the party.

In the days and weeks leading up to the big day itself more will be coming – with Christmas lunches to be savoured, crackers to be pulled, dances to be danced and many a mince pie to be munched.

Newham Council wants all residents to enjoy the fun by attending free events which are guaranteed to get the Christmas spirit flowing. You can find out about all the festive events here We Are Together At Christmas – Newham Council

We will share the merriment on line.

The Council wants you to be a big part – when you attend an event, host or go to a Together at Christmas lunch share your photos on our Twitter site using the hashtag #NewhamChristmas.
