We are looking at how we can improve streets in Beckton to make walking and cycling an easy, safe and convenient way to get around.
Our Beckton Walking and Cycling project is focused on upgrading infrastructure such as cycle lanes and tracks, improved footways or trees and greenery. By doing so we will:
- make walking and cycling easy, safe and convenient
- reduce air pollution
- promote more high street economic activity
The project covers the whole Beckton area, including four focus areas: Tollgate Road, Woolwich Manor Way, Beckton Town Centre, and Beckton Corridor. map

This will be followed by workshops in December and January to refine designs.
We expect early works to take place from March 2023.
