Flooding incident in the Hallsville Quarter area of Canning Town: Statement 27 October 2022

Newham Council is supporting residents at Hallsville Quarter in Canning Town working with partners responsible for running these privately managed properties following the flooding incident that is still ongoing.

We understand the flooding is caused by a blockage to a sewer pipe caused by construction material which is affecting the basements of properties operated by First Port Property Management Services – the managing agents for all of Hallsville Quarter. Thames Water are working to resolve the issue.

The properties affected remain without power and water and residents are currently accommodated in local hotels. Newham residents’ security and safety is our principal concern and our officers are supporting residents by assisting the management company. Fire wardens/security will continue patrols in the affected blocks.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and stand ready to assist if required.

Residents should contact the managing agents on 0333 321 4080
