Meanwhile Space selected as operator of Green Street Workspace

The first Green Street improvements have moved a step closer with the appointment of an operator for the forthcoming workspace at Queen’s Market.

Following a rigorous selection process, London-based Meanwhile Space has been appointed to manage the Green Street Workspace which will be delivered as part of the GLA Good Growth and Newham Council investment at Queen’s Market. They will provide input at all stages of the process and help inform the engagement and co-design process. The project will help to strengthen and support existing business and community network in and around the market, and forge new businesses relationships through buying and selling of services and the promotion of creativity, diversity, inclusivity and wellbeing of the residents.

The Green Street Workspace will be located on Rochester Avenue and provide more opportunities for residents to start or grow their businesses in the borough – there is a lack of workspace in Newham and particularly around Green Street.

Newham Council and Meanwhile Space want local businesses, entrepreneurs, creatives and interested local residents to share their opinions on the type of workspace needed. They are therefore carrying out a survey to understand who the future tenants could be, the types of spaces required and what type of programming would be beneficial for future tenants; the survey can be found at www.newhamco-create.co.uk/en/projects/affordable-workspace
