• Seven young pups abandoned to die in a sealed box rescued
• Youngsters on their way to forever homes
These beautiful pups were found abandoned inside a sealed cardboard box in Arthington Street, Stratford, E15 in the height of summer heat.
Thanks to puppy-superpower they managed to chew their way free before being rescued by officers from Newham Council’s Animal Welfare team.
Due to their young age, thought to be under eight-weeks, the pups were rapidly assessed before being transferred to the Dogs Trust for 24-hour care and re-homing.
Cabinet lead for Community Safety and Crime, Amar Virdee, said: “To abandon these lovely animals – taped tight inside a box at the height of summer – was beyond cruel, and so unnecessary.
“Thanks to our Animal Welfare Team they will have the chance of a new life where they’ll be loved and cared for.”
It’s believed the puppies are a French Bulldog cross, and the Welfare Team want to remind residents that unwanted pregnancies are not necessary.
