• The plaque to Corey Junior Davis was unveiled by his mother Keisha McLeod and Mayor of Newham Rokhsana Fiaz
• Police renew public appeal to help find those who killed him
A plaque has been unveiled in Newham to remember ‘unforgettable dance star’ Corey Junior Davis who died in 2017.
The plaque was unveiled by his mother Keisha McLeod and Mayor of Newham Rokhsana Fiaz in a small ceremony attended by close members of Corey’s family. Keisha is a member of the council’s Youth Safety Board set up by Mayor Fiaz.
Corey was shot dead in a park in Moore Walk, E7, while socialising with his friends and his killers have never been found. The ceremony coincides with a renewed appeal by detectives investigating his murder for information to find them. A £20,000 reward from the Metropolitan Police Service is available for anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
Speaking at the event, Mayor Fiaz said: “The plaque marks the important life and joy of CJ. We remember him with love in our hearts and in our minds. The remembrance plaque celebrates the life and energy of CJ and the young person he was, in a space that he thrived in. He will never be forgotten.”
