In recognition of the phenomenal achievement of West Ham United winning the Europa Conference League Cup Final in Prague yesterday, the team and support staff will kick off their open top bus parade at 7pm tonight (Thursday, 8 June).
Fans and residents are invited to join the celebrations along the route to mark the team’s first silverware in 43 years and first European trophy since 1965.
The bus parade will start at the Hammers’ old home at Upton Park and will travel to Stratford Town Hall along the following route:
- From the Champions statue along Barking Road
- Greengate Street
- High Street, E13
- Plaistow Road
- West Ham Lane to the rear of Stratford Town Hall
On arrival at Stratford Town Hall, the players will lift the trophy on the balcony and be joined by Newham’s Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz OBE and Chief Executive Colin Ansell.
There will be short road closures along the route and everyone is encouraged to check restrictions before traveling. Broadway, E15 will be closed to traffic between its junctions with The Grove and High Street in both directions, along with the closure of Tramway Avenue and West Ham Lane between the Broadway and Densham Avenue.
In both directions, traffic will be diverted via Densham Road, Romford Road, The Grove and Great Eastern Road l be diverted via Densham Road, Romford Road, The Grove and Great Eastern Road in both directions. Buses will be on local diversions via these routes.
Pedestrian access will not be affected by the closures.
The parade and celebrations should be complete by 9pm this evening.
