The programme which operates across the Easter, Summer and Christmas school holidays – offers an exciting range of fun activities from sports to arts, crafts, music, outdoor activities, excursions for all eligible 5-16 year olds who receive benefits related free school meals.
To celebrate this season’s egg-citing offer Newham Interim Chief Executive Colin Ansell hopped along to the Royal Docks Learning and Activity Centre to join the fun.
He said: “Newham’s Holiday Activity and Food programme is a real game changer for many Newham families. There is a dizzying array fun stuff to do, and crucially it ensures the young people who most need it, have access to nutritious food during the school break.
“It’s a scheme that simultaneously keeps our youngsters safe and entertained whilst receiving a nutritious meal. The programme helps deliver on our promise to support young people by promoting their physical and mental health, as well as their well-being.”
