Windrush Day marks the anniversary of the arrival of the MV Empire Windrush at Tilbury Docks on 21 June 1948 with over 500 people from the Caribbean answering the call to help rebuild post-war Britain.
It aims to recognise and honour the contribution of the Windrush Generation and their descendants and to keep their legacy alive for future generations, ensuring that we all celebrate the diversity of Britain's history.
Despite the pandemic and the current restrictions, we want to ensure the day receives the recognition it deserves.
