As an apprentice you can get training and qualifications while you work and earn a salary. Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to work for a real employer alongside experienced staff.
You will earn a salary and gain a qualification as well as valuable workplace experience and relevant job specific skills.
You can apply for an apprenticeship if you are:
- Aged over 16
- Eligible to work in England
- Not in full time education.

Apprenticeships within Newham council
An apprenticeship at Newham Council offers Newham residents the opportunity to gain new skills and qualifications while working. Apprentices earn while they learn during the two year programme and receive support to help them build their confidence and launch a successful career.
They receive off the job training once a week to work towards their apprenticeship standard related to their job role. They also receive practical experience and work alongside experienced professionals who will help shape their professional development.
