Who carries out FRAs?
FRAs must be carried out by a person with qualifications and experience in fire risk management.
How is the fire risk score worked out?
The fire risk score is based on how likely a fire is to occur and how severe it would be. It identifies the level of risk of fire in the building.

Moderate |
It is essential efforts are made to reduce the risk. Measures should be implemented within a set time period. If there is a chance the risk could cause extreme harm, further assessment will be required. |
6 |
Substantial |
Considerable resources should be allocated to reduce the risk. If the building is empty, it should not be occupied until the risk has been reduced. If the building is occupied, urgent action should be taken. |
9 |
Intolerable |
Building (or relevant area) should not be occupied until the risk is reduced. |
