Adult social care is a broad term that refers to support provided by a wide range of agencies and individuals to help those in need including carers to maintain their independence and well-being.  This support includes both formal and informal support with personal care, daily living, social activities. Publically funded support is provided by Local Authorities.

Transforming Adult Social Care in Newham   

An exciting and far-reaching programme of transformation is underway, aimed at revolutionising the Adult Social Care and Health system in Newham. We are seeking dedicated and motivated professionals to deliver best in class services to our Newham residents. We are inviting individuals to apply who have a deep rooted passion for improving the quality of lives of our Adult population and are driven by complex challenges that need to be delivered at pace. You must possess a deep understanding and commitment to programme and project management disciplines, along with a wealth of experience in delivering high-quality change initiatives. You will need to have a natural attribute for being professionally curious, able to build strong and effective relationships and use intelligence and insight to inform your recommendations and decision making clearly.

Job Roles

Adult Social Care and Health Transformation Manager
£57,379-£69,669

 
The role requires an individual with a strong background in Social Care and Health, and a commitment to providing a modernised service that aligns with the principles outlined in the "People at the Heart of Care: Adult Social Care Reform White Paper." 

As a Transformation Manager, you will report to the Transformation Lead and be an integral part of our leadership group. Working alongside your peers, you will help shape a positive culture and serve as a role model for the team and our broader stakeholder group. The ability to influence across organisational boundaries is crucial in our holistic approach to achieving significant and comprehensive change. Your responsibilities include driving change within your own portfolio of work and inspiring the broader team to achieve the intended benefits.

Adult Social Care and Health Innovation and Data Analyst
£46,041-£49,083

The role requires an individual with excellent skills in data and information collection, manipulation and the ability to interpret complex data and insight; in relation to Adults Social care and Health and to use that data to inform and make recommendations for change, improvement and innovation of services to the benefit of our residents.  The role reports directly to the Transformation Lead and is integral to identifying opportunities for change and measuring the impact and benefits of all of the work we do. 

You will be passionate about ensuring transformation and change initiatives have clearly defined measurable benefits and these measures have a mechanism to be collected and reported on. You will enable a performance driven culture and have a knack for transforming data into actionable insights.

Adult Social Care and Health Projects and Change Manager
£42,840-£52,116

As a Projects and Change Manager in our Adult Social Care directorate, you will play a pivotal role in driving and managing change initiatives aimed at improving service delivery, efficiency, and overall outcomes for our residents. Reporting directly to the Transformation Manager, you will support and lead change efforts, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and ensure smooth transition processes.

You will be required to collaborate closely with the Transformation Manager and the wider stakeholder group to develop and implement change strategies aligned with organisational objectives or deliver on scoped transformation plans to deliver the identified outcomes and benefits.

Principal Social Worker for Adults and Head if Strategic Safeguarding and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards 
Grade SMRB: £63519 - £78282 pa

An opportunity has become available to provide effective strategic leadership and management to ensure the Local Authority works in accordance with best practice and meets it statutory duties related to Adult Social Care. You will need to fulfil the functions of the Principal Social Worker for Adults to ensure we meet overall professional responsibilities and we maintain a, motivated and skilled workforce, where staff wellbeing is a priority and staff feel valued and respected.

Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Practice Lead 
PO5 £49,083 - £52,116 per annum

The Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Practice Lead post is a new and exciting opportunity in the revised Dols Team. The post will carry out Dols assessments as a Best Interest Assessor and will lead on the quality assurance and practice development of Dols related activity and mental capacity practice. If you have the required skills, knowledge and experience and are passionate about developing and maintaining excellent person centred, rights based, strengths based and outcome focused practice, focused on prevention, optimising independence, safety and well-being, this could be the right post for you.

Practice and Workforce Development Officer

The Practice and Workforce Development Officer post is a new and exciting opportunity in the newly formed Strategic Safeguarding, Practice and Work Development Team. This post is responsible for leading on and managing key tasks to achieve the strategic objectives of the Strategic Safeguarding, Practice and Workforce Development Team - this includes creating and maintaining business mapping processes, gathering, analysing and presenting data, tracking progress and maintaining action logs from various portfolios, to ensure effective governance is maintained and outcomes are met within the agreed time scales and specified Key Performance Indicators.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the Safeguarding Adult statutory partners (the Local Authority as the lead agency, the Police and Health), as we all other key partners, private, voluntary and faith organisations, residents and carers across the borough and North East London.

Safeguarding Adults Board Manager
P07 £53,129 - £57,201 pa

Following a reorganisation of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team, The Safeguarding Governance Team, The Workforce Development Team and the Newham Safeguarding Adult Board Business Unit, this post has been created as part of the Newham Safeguarding Adult Board Business Unit. The post holder will provide effective leadership, scrutiny and governance across statutory partners, key partners, residents and organisations, to enable Newham Safeguarding Adults Board (NSAB) to meet its statutory duties and responsibilities and achieve its strategic objectives.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the Safeguarding Adult statutory partners (the Local Authority as the lead agency, the Police and Health), as we all other key partners, private, voluntary and faith organisations, residents and carers across the borough and North East London.
