BSL Support

What is an indicative personal budget?

An indicative personal budget is the estimated amount of money that is needed to meet your eligible care and support needs following your assessment.

Knowing your indicative personal budget helps you to plan your care and support. This is called support planning.

We will let you know your indicative personal budget within 28 days of your assessment.

What is a personal budget?

Your personal budget is the final cost of agreed services that will be purchased to meet your eligible care and support needs.

Your personal budget can be made up of various funding streams. This may include a contribution that you are required to make.

The amount you will need to contribute will be calculated at the end of your financial assessment.

Carers are not currently required to pay a contribution towards services they receive from Adult Social Care.

Your personal budget can either be:

  • Paid direct to you so that you can arrange your own care and support or
  • We can arrange this for you, or
  • A combination of the two.
