The assemblies in each area were followed by the creation of a steering group that consists of local people who live, work or learn in the area, alongside councillors and council officers.
The steering group put together the details of the Community Neighbourhood Plan and developed a local action plan to implement the projects voted for last year.
The April assemblies were the end of an eighteen month engagement cycle (September 2018 – March 2020). The Community plans were developed and agreed in April 2019.
From April 2019 – March 2020 all the projects that were chosen at the assemblies were delivered. The final round in April 2020 gave an opportunity for residents to find out whether the projects were successfully delivered and completed.
Furthermore, this was an opportunity for residents to share their experience of participating in the assemblies and give feedback on the whole process of the eighteen month cycle.
