Fire Safety Notice: No BBQs or Open Fires Allowed in Parks

BBQs or any form of open fire are not permitted in any of our parks due to the severe risk of causing a fire which could destroy wildlife and landscapes while being a danger to visitors and surrounding properties.

An unattended BBQ, a carelessly dropped cigarette or even a glass bottle left lying on the grass can cause fires.

In case of a fire call 999 immediately

Follow this fire safety advice:

  • Do not BBQ in our parks and green spaces
  • Make sure your cigarette is properly put out. Discarded cigarettes and matches are common causes of fires in public places
  • Do not leave glass bottles lying around in the sun, as they can start fires by magnifying the sun’s rays
  • BBQ’s are not permitted in public spaces including in our parks and gardens
