Fire Safety Notice: No BBQs or Open Fires Allowed in Parks
BBQs or any form of open fire are not permitted in any of our parks due to the severe risk of causing a fire which could destroy wildlife and landscapes while being a danger to visitors and surrounding properties.
An unattended BBQ, a carelessly dropped cigarette or even a glass bottle left lying on the grass can cause fires.
In case of a fire call 999 immediately
Follow this fire safety advice:
- Do not BBQ in our parks and green spaces
- Make sure your cigarette is properly put out. Discarded cigarettes and matches are common causes of fires in public places
- Do not leave glass bottles lying around in the sun, as they can start fires by magnifying the sun’s rays
- BBQ’s are not permitted in public spaces including in our parks and gardens
