Winter Wellness
As the colder weather sets in, it can be challenging to avoid getting sick. However, there is lots you can do to stay healthy and improve your wellbeing.
- Get vaccinated: It’s the best way to protect yourself against COVID-19 and flu.
- Stay warm: One of the most important things you can do is keep warm at home. Find out more about support available here.
- Be prepared: Stock up your medicine cabinet early – ask your pharmacist or GP about your repeat prescriptions.
- Get advice: Your pharmacist can help with winter illnesses such as a cold, sore throat, cough or earache. You can also call NHS 111 or visit www.nhs.uk for advice.
- Stay connected: Check on neighbours and relatives to make sure they are safe, and prepared. Find out more about our Be Connected programme that can support you to get connected.
- Here to help: Stay up to date with the cost of living support available in Newham on our Help is Here pages.
