“Promoting the borough and the fantastic range of sites that are available to host such prestigious events is something that the local authority is proud of. This requires developing professional relationships with private industry, whilst protecting consumers, and supporting the local economy which is something I passionately believe in.
“The London Borough of Newham is open to business opportunities, whether small, medium or large multi-national enterprise. I am pleased that MLB continues to see the value in procuring the services and expertise that is available within the local authority”.
“The sale of counterfeit goods has deep links to organised crime groups (OCG’s). Preventing the sale of fake products and protecting the intellectual property rights of brand holders is something that we must continue to support”.
“During the London Series, the Trading Standards and Police were an important partner in ensuring fans could purchase official MLB merchandise that meets the league’s highest standards of quality and durability,” said Tanya Fickenscher, MLB Vice President & Deputy Counsel, IP. “The partnership, support and teamwork demonstrated by the Trading Standards and Police helped make the London Series a memorable experience for baseball fans in the UK."
